I thought this song was perfect for Throwback Thursday because we are so sick of the snow! And the music video for "So Sick" is set in the snow!!!

Anyway, "So Sick" was the second single off of Ne-Yo's debut album, In My Own Words.

Ne-Yo had been behind the scenes for awhile, writing and producing for other artists, which is why for his debut album he called it In My Own Words.

According to Wikipedia, Ne-Yo had this to say about the song, "It's about the first time I fell in love with a girl in a way that I completely screwed it up. So it was a story that I didn't have to think really hard about putting it together. A lot of heartbreak went into that song, so that's why I think a lot of people dug it the way they did – because you can feel it."

"So Sick" was remixed five times! With features by Jay-Z and LL Cool J.

"So Sick" had two music videos directed by Hype Williams. The original one was scrapped in favor of a Winter weather themed music video since the song was released in Winter. Watching the music video now, I'm reminded of the music video trend that was so popular at the time where the top and bottom frame would be one scene, while the middle was something else.

"So Sick" reached #1 on the Billboard Hot 100, Mainstream Top 40, and Rhythmic charts!
