Sarah McLachlan brought her smooth Canadian vocals to America in the 90s.

While most people these days associate her with abused animals, I remember all her great hits from back in the day.

"Sweet Surrender" was the second single off of her debut album, Surfacing. The song was released in March of 1998.

While "Sweet Surrender" only peaked at #28 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, a remix version by DJ Tiesto, released in 2001, reached #6 on the Billboard Hot Dance Club Play chart.

Sarah McLachlan went on to co-found the Lillith Fair tour.
