Monday was National Radio Day and Jennifer Lopez received the Video Vanguard Award at the MTV Video Music Awards, so I figured "Play" by Jennifer Lopez was perfect! I mean, the song is about getting a DJ to play your favorite song!

"Play" was off of Jennifer Lopez's second album entitled, J.Lo. It was the second single off of the album.

"Play" was co-written by Christina Milian and you can even hear her on background vocals!

The music video was directed by Francis Lawrence and was all computer generated. The spaceship set and everything it entailed was done in post production. Post production took six weeks for "Play."

If you look closely, Cris Judd, is one of the back up dancers. He would later marry and then divorce Jennifer Lopez.

"Play" peaked at #18 on Billboard Hot 100, #6 on Mainstream Top 40, and #2 on the Dance Club Songs chart.

According to Wikipedia, "Outside the United States, "Play" peaked within the top ten of the charts in over ten countries, including Canada, Finland, Italy and the United Kingdom."
