"My Place" was the first single off of Nelly's album, Suit. Suit was part of a double album that was released as a partner to Sweat. The goal was to have two albums that contrast each other. Sweat was more up-tempo and Suit was more melodic and sexy.

According to Wikipedia, "My Place" is full of samples, "The main chorus samples Teddy Pendergrass' "Come Go with Me", and halfway through the song, it has a brief sample of DeBarge's song "I Like It" while the overall song features a sample of Labelle's 1977 hit, "Isn't It a Shame"."

"My Place" features male guest vocals from Jaheim and female guest vocals from Kim Johnson.

"My Place" went all the way to #4 on Billboard Hot 100 and the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart.

Chances are pretty good you can hear this song live when Nelly performs in Brookings at The Swifter Center on October 25th. For more information and tickets click here.

And just for fun, here is a Throwback Thursday picture of me and Nelly. I believe this was in 2011.
