Ok, so this Throwback Thursday is probably the furthest we've thrown back. 1989.

In doing research for this song, I thought there would be tons of information. I mean the group was riddled with scandal. However, when I went to Wikipedia this was all it said, "Blame It on the Rain" is a song by German dance-pop group Milli Vanilli."

Seriously?

It does go on to talk about the songs chart performance, "... for the week ending November 25, 1989, it reached number one, and occupied the spot for two weeks. It also spent a total of twenty-three weeks on the Hot 100. The song became Milli Vanilli's third number one single on the Hot 100 after "Baby Don't Forget My Number" and "Girl I'm Gonna Miss You". "Rain" was their final single to top the chart before their infamous scandal took off."

There it finally mentions the scandal.

Well, ok, that was the page of info for the song, but on the band's Wikipedia page, there is more to say, "Their success turned to infamy when Morvan, Pilatus and their agent Sergio Vendero confessed that Morvan and Pilatus did not actually sing any of the vocals heard on the record. The pair decided to return the Grammy awards and asked they be given to the real vocalists.[2][3][4] The group recorded a comeback album in 1998, but Rob Pilatus died before the album was released.[5] "

But for Throwback Thursday purposes I don't care who is actually singing, I just want to hear the song because of it's timely message about rain. Is it seriously still raining?
