"Emotions" was Mariah Carey's lead single off of her second albumn, Emotions.

The song was co-written by C+C Music Factory. The song features Mariah's 'whistle register' heavily.

The music video features a 'desaturated' color effect. It lacks some color, but has tints of brown, red, and blue. My favorite thing about any Mariah Carey music video is watching her strainng to keep the right side of her face on screen as much as possible. Allegedly, Mariah favors the right side of her face. It's her 'good' side. Once you notice, it's hard not to focus on it while watching any Mariah performance.

"Emotions" was a huge commercial success helping Mariah break records. According to Wikipedia, "'Emotions' became Carey's fifth consecutive number one hit on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100, giving her the distinction of being the first (and, to date, only) act to have their first five singles make number 1 on the Hot 100. (She had previously shared a record of four with The Jackson 5.)"

"Emotions" went to #1 on Billboard Hot 100, Dance Club Songs, and Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart!

Mariah Carey has had many flawless performances of "Emotions" over the years, but probably the most infamous was her botched New Year's Eve performance in 2016. Yikes. I still love ya, girl! Everybody has a bad day.
