Easter is this Sunday and I was trying to think of a song that sort of went with the themes of Easter. And I came up with...Joan Osbourne "One of Us."

The song was released in 1995 and soon became a huge hit.

The song showed up on multiple Billboard charts in the US, including US Adult Contemporary - 20, US Adult Top 40 - 16, US Alternative Songs - 7, US Billboard Hot 100 - 4, US Mainstream Top 40 - 2.

"One of Us" received Grammy nominations in 1996 for Best Female Pop Vocal Performance, Record of the Year, and Song of the Year, however it did not win.

"One of Us" was also featured on VH1's Greatest Songs of the 90's at #54 and #10 on the network's 40 Greatest One Hit Wonders of the 90's.

The music video was filmed mostly at Coney Island in New York.

I think I was in 4th grade when this song came out and I kind of wanted a nose ring after seeing Joan Osborne in this video. I also remember my 4th grade teacher making fun of the song because she thought the lyric, "Just a slob like one of us. Just a stranger on the bus. Trying to make His way home?" was ridiculous! Isn't it weird the things you remember?
