Throwback Thursday: ‘Leavin’ by Jesse McCartney (2008)

It was announced this week that Jesse McCartney will be playing a show live in Sioux Falls at The District on May 7th. So obviously, I had to pick a J Mac song. Is calling him J Mac a thing? Well, it is now.

Anyway, picking my favorite J Mac song was a tough one, but alas I settled on "Leavin.'" The song was the first of his more grown up songs. He had outgrown Disney and bubble gum and had become a little more mature.

"Leavin'" was the lead single from the 2008 album, Departure.

The song went on to sell over 2 million digital downloads and was certified Platinum. "Leavin'" is also Jesse McCartney's only top 10 hit...so far.

2008 was a big year for J Mac. According to Wikipedia:

"Leavin'" holds the record for spending the second most weeks at No. 1 in 2008 on the American Top 40 behind Leona Lewis' "Bleeding Love" which was co-written by Jesse McCartney.
