Throwback Thursday ‘It Feels So Good’ by Sonique (1998)

"It Feels So Good" by Sonique technically came out in 1998, but it was one of those songs that took awhile to gain traction so it didn't really get big until 1999 and into 2000.

Sonique is a British DJ/Producer/Singer and her real name is Sonia Marina Clarke.

"It Feels So Good" was the third best selling single in the UK in 2000. It didn't do too shabby in the states either. It peaked at #1 on the Billboard Hot Dance Club Play chart and #8 on Billboard Hot 100 chart.

Sonique owes much of her success in the US to a radio DJ in Florida who started playing "It Feels So Good" and it caught on.

Sonique had this to say about her hit single according to Wikipedia:

"It's about this guy whom I really liked years ago, but who didn't return my feelings. For he was very successful and I wasn't — at that time. And he thought that I was in love with his success. This song is just a way of declaring that it was him I liked."

On a personal note, Sonique battled breast cancer in 2010 and is now doing great!
