"I Do" was the debut single off of Toya's debut album, Toya.

"I Do" was released in 2001. The song was a hit and went all the way to #16 on Billboard Hot 100 chart, however, the album was a dud.

Toya's full name is LaToya Lacole Rodriguez and was named after LaToya Jackson, you know, Michael Jackson's sister. Toya must be a big Michael Jackson fan because in the video her school locker has Jackson posters, she wears a pink leather jacket reminiscent of the 'Beat It' jacket, and some of the choreography is Jackson inspired.

She is from St. Louis, Missouri, which is represented in her music video by her sporting some St. Louis Cardinals gear.

Toya is married to former  University of Tennessee quarterback and current University of Southern California assistant coach Tamaurice Martin. Together they have two sons.

On a personal note, I saw Toya live when she was one of the openers for Jessica Simpson on her DreamCatcher Tour. Other openers included Eden's Crush (remember Nicole Scherzinger was in Eden's Crush) and PlusOne.

They set the stage up in the Southern Hills Mall Parking lot and it was rain or shine so of course it rained. The show started late due to the rain and I remember being wet and tired and my feet hurt. It was a good show though, once it actually started.
