Throwback Thursday: ‘Thriller/Heads Will Roll’ by the Cast of Glee (2011)

I really miss Glee sometimes. The other day I had my iTunes on shuffle and this little gem popped up and I thought to myself, "Self, this would be a great Throwback Thursday for Halloween."

With Throwback Thursday, I try to not be too obvious. So the obvious choice would be "Thriller" by Michael Jackson, but a mash up from Glee isn't obvious.

"Thriller/Heads Will Roll" was from Season 2 of Glee. It is actually from the episode that aired after the Super Bowl XLV. "Thriller" is mixed with "Heads Will Roll" by the Yeah Yeah Yeahs. The Glee episode it is part of was the most expensive post Super Bowl show ever. It cost between $3 and $5 million.

The episode shows the football team being forced to join the show choir to try to bring them together instead of continuing a rivalry. The mash up is then performed as part of the school's football halftime show.

In the US, "Thriller / Heads Will Roll" debuted at number 75. The February 17, 2011 showed "Thriller / Heads Will Roll" to 38.^[56]
