Throwback Thursday: ‘Get The Party Started’ by Pink (2001)

Pink got the party started in 2001. "Get the Party Started" was the first single from Missundaztood, Pink's second album.

The song was written and produced by former 4 Non Blondes front woman, Linda Perry. Pink and Linda Perry have had quite the working relationship starting with Missundaztood and continuing until this day.

According to Wikipedia, "Get the Party Started,"

It reached number four on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 on December 29, 2001, becoming one of Pink's biggest solo hits.

The video was nominated at the 2002 MTV Video Music Awards for "Best Pop Video" and won the awards for "Best Female Video" and "Best Dance Video".

The video was shot in late September of 2001 and if you look closely around the 1:46 mark there is an American flag which was a nod to the 9/11 attacks that had happened only a short time before.
