Throwback Thursday: ‘Never There’ by Cake (1998)

Flo Rida has a song out right now called "Cake" and it reminded me of the band, Cake.

"Never There" by Cake was the first single off of their third album, Prolonging the Magic. "Never There" was and currently is the highest charting song for Cake. The song went all the way to #1 on Billboard's Modern Rock Tracks chart.

"Never There" was Cake's first song to crossover to Billboard's Hot 100 chart. The song peaked at #78.

Cake is based out of Sacramento, CA and is known for the monotone style of the lead singer and having a trumpet player.
