Tyler Johnson, Larry Drew II and presumably Andre Dawkins gained elevated status with NBA 10-day contracts.  The Sioux Falls Skyforce make a move to bolster their roster.  

The Sioux Falls Skyforce announced today via press release that they have acquired rookie guard Bubu Palo from the available player pool.

Palo started the season with the Texas Legends. In 16 games with the Legends, Palo made 10 starts and averaged 6.3 points, 2.1 assists and 2.1 rebounds. His best game of the season came in a 117-109 win over the Rio Grande Valley Vipers in which he recorded 18 points, five assists and three rebounds. When the Skyforce played the Legends earlier this season, Palo started the game and recorded 10 points, two assists and two rebounds. Palo spent his collegiate career at Iowa State University. During his time there he made 70 appearances (nine starts), averaging 3.4 points, 1.6 rebounds and 1.3 assists.

Next home game for the ‘Force is Thursday, January 22 against Iowa who will by contrast be overstocked for the occasion.  The Energy’s roster will include three assignees from Memphis joining the fray at the Sanford Pentagon.  Memphis made the move on Tuesday with guard Jordan Adams, forward/center Jarnell Stokes and guard Russ Smith all making the trip.

Adams averaged 22.3 points and 8.0 rebounds on .436 shooting in 34.7 minutes in three games in his most recent assignment to Iowa (Dec. 12-21). Overall, the 20-year-old has recorded 18.0 points, 7.1 rebounds and 1.43 steals on .430 shooting in 32.0 minutes in seven games for the Energy this season, scoring in double figures six times and reaching 20 points three times.

The Atlanta native has recorded 2.5 points in 7.0 minutes in 11 games during his rookie season in Memphis. He was drafted by the Grizzlies in the first round (22nd overall) of the 2014 NBA Draft after two seasons at UCLA (2012-14).

Stokes averaged 12.0 points and 7.0 rebounds on .600 shooting in 26.5 minutes in two games during his third stint in Iowa (Dec. 19-21). Overall, the 21-year-old has posted 13.0 points and 7.3 rebounds on .577 shooting in 25.0 minutes in three games for the Energy this season, scoring in double digits two times and notching one double-double.

The Memphis native has averaged 2.1 points and 1.3 rebounds in 5.6 minutes in 16 games (two starts) during his rookie season for the Grizzlies. He was selected by the Utah Jazz in the second round (35th overall) of the 2014 NBA Draft after three seasons at the University of Tennessee (2011-14). Stokes then was traded to the Grizzlies on draft night for a 2016 second round draft pick.

Smith has averaged 15.1 points and 5.9 assists on .549 shooting in 24.9 minutes in seven games over three assignments for Fort Wayne, including five double-digit scoring efforts. The 23-year old totaled five points in 29 minutes in six appearances for the Pelicans this season and has yet to make his Grizzlies debut after being acquired by Memphis in a three-team trade with New Orleans and Boston on Jan. 12.
