This Week’s Volunteer Opportunities from the Helpline Center
This week's volunteer opportunities:
Volunteers are needed for the upcoming Maxwell’s Million Dollar Dreams event on Saturday, May 14 at the 8th & Railroad Center, located in downtown Sioux Falls on the Eastbank. This family friendly festival will benefit Make-A-Wish® South Dakota. Various volunteer shifts are available between 7:00 AM and 10:00 PM.
Help prepare for the 20th Annual Festival of Cultures. The event is in need of an individual that can contact past, current, and potential vendors to complete their registration for booth space. This will entail phone calls, emails, and face-to-face contact. In addition, this individual will help plan activities for Kids World during the Festival.
Paralyzed Veterans of American is holding its 2nd Annual PVA Poker Run on May 14th from 10:00 AM to 5:30 PM at the Sanford Pentagon. A total of 15 volunteers are needed to help out with the event.
BRIDGES is seeking volunteers to assist with job coaching. People who have worked in HR or in a career coach position are encouraged to apply. The hours required vary, but for the most part it would average approximately six to eight a month. At this time evening or weekend appointments are not offered, but if enough willing coaches can be found, making this service available for the under-employed would be considered. Generally, coaches select a time they will see clients and are scheduled accordingly.
