The X-Files are Open and the Truth is Still Out There

We got our first real look at the revival of The X-Files in a pair of promos that were unleashed on the world during Gotham and Minority Report on FOX this week.

They have the usual teasing promo bits; quick flashes of people walking, people running and mysterious voice overs. We see Mulder and Scully on their phones! Skinner is back, and has a beard. Mulder has a beard. Beards for everyone! I did get chills with the last shot of the hand of a certain 'man' and his voice saying, "We have a problem."

It looks like there's going to be a lot about drones, cameras, privacy issues and other modern conspiracy stuff.And yes that was a very quick shot of Joel McHale meeting Mulder at the door.

My X-Files questions are: Didn't Cigarette Smoking Man die in at the end of the series, in one of the Anasazi cliff dwellings? Will we get to see more of those aliens that have their eyes and mouths covered with skin? They were pretty cool. And what of The Loan Gunmen? Didn't they die at the end of the series too?

OK, I just checked IMDB, and it looks like Byers, Frohike and Langly are all back. But, didn't they die in the last season too? This revival is either going to be super awesome or super dumb. I can't wait.

The new X-Files premieres on Sunday, January 24, 2016.
