I have actually been toying with the idea of jumping off The Walking Dead wagon. Not because I don't love the show anymore. I do, in fact I think each season has been better than the last. But because I feel like I've been sucker-punched by the hype machine and it plays with my emotions and taints my enjoyment of the show. It's bad enough that I have to wait a week between episodes, let along months between seasons (I recently watched all of Mad Men over about a month and couldn't imagine having to wait days and months between stories). The endless TWD chatter, and frankly complaining, gets to me. Even if I try to tune it out it still can burn me out.

But, I am here to tell you that that walker malaise has been lifted! I watch the Comic-Con trailer for season six and I am so on board. The new spot is full of action, bad-ass lines and zombies. Lots and lots of zombies, and a song by Hozier called "Arsonist's Lullabye."

When we ended season five Rick had just finished off the guy that killed Deanna's husband. Rick shot him just as Morgan made it to Alexandria. It seemed that the townspeople were coming around to Ricks truth. Oh and there was the Wolves to deal with.

In the new trailer it seems that maybe the people of Alexandria may not quite be on Rick's wavelength and might be trying to use Morgan to take Rick down. Or maybe not, it seems that Deanna could be coming around to the reality of the world, but it does look like a bit of rebellion is brewing.

I have faith in Rick though, especially when he says, “You really think you’re going to take this community from us? From Daryl? From Michonne? From Glenn? From me? Do you have any idea who you're talking to?”

Oh, and the Wolves are still a thing. In a beautiful coda to the trailer, it looks as if some of the Wolves have managed to catch Daryl. They have him bound and are getting ready to torture him or something. But Daryl isn't worried. He tells his captors, "I ain't who you think I am." He then proceed to show them who he is. I literately cheered at this part the first time I watched it.
