The Walking Dead and The Red Cross Prepare for Disaster [VIDEO]

When the zombie apocalypse comes...OK, if the zombie apocalypse comes, a stocked blood supply be just as important as a bug-out bag. That's why The Red Cross and the TV home of The Walking Dead came together to raise awareness of the importance of donating blood.

"From now through October 22, “The American Red Cross Zombie Blood Drive” campaign will urge everyone to use their brains and give blood through the Red Cross. Special effects make-up guru Greg Nicotero from AMC’s “The Walking Dead” has zombie-fied some Hollywood stars who are supporting the campaign..."

Zombies may rise only on the screen but natural disasters are real and the Red Cross' efforts to maintain a consent blood supply are an important part of disaster response. AMC and The Red Cross also put together a sweepstakes with a chance to win a trip to the set of The Walking Dead in Georgia as part of the awareness campaign.
