The District Opens in Sioux Falls
Thursday (November 7) was the VIP/Media night at The District in Sioux Falls. The new venue is located on 49th Street on the Empire Mall campus. They feature a Wood Fire Grill with a diverse, affordable menu, a concert venue with a capacity of 1500, plus the ability to host events, weddings, business meetings and more. A true multi-purpose venue that is going to be a great addition to our city.
South Dakota’s own Indigenous performed in the Event Hall on Thursday, mixing music from their latest release ‘Vanishing Americans’ with songs from their catalog and closing with the Jimi Hendrix classics ‘Red House’ and ‘Hear My Train A-Comin”. While the band sounded great as always as they embark on a run of dates in support of Jonny Lang, the crowd for the most part seemed more interested in checking out the business, enjoying a few cocktails and socializing as the lounge and grill remained packed from the 5pm opening well into the night.
Tonight (Friday November 8) The District is hosting a grand opening with Uncle Kracker. The show is free and open to the public on a first come first serve basis. Doors open at 5pm. Once they reach their capacity, others will have to wait to get in until others leave.
Other bands already announced to be performing at the District offer a variety of choices from Hairball, to Third Eye Blind, to Kip Moore to Wookiefoot to Tracy Lawrence to Soulcrate Music and many more.
Sioux Falls, get ready for many nights like we had last night at The District.
