This weekend a number of student-athletes in the 6th, 7th, and 8th grade are in Wichita, Kansas, representing South Dakota in the FBU National Championship.

FBU, or Football University, is a recognized national leader in developing and enhancing the ability of young football players from 6th grade and up.

For comparison purposes, the FBU National Championship is comparable to the Little League World Series.

South Dakota, under the guidance and leadership of their FBU Director Jeff Adler, once again fielded teams of 6th, 7th, and 8th grade student-athletes from various cities around the Sioux Empire including Sioux Falls.

Team South Dakota's 6th grade team started their path to Naples, Florida, on Friday with a 32-0 win over Austin, Texas.
Next up is Team Wichita on Sunday morning and with a victory, Team South Dakota will have their 6th grade team going on to the final three rounds in south Florida to play for a National Championship the weekend of December 17th.

Team South Dakota's 7th grade team, a team that competed in Naples last year as 6th graders, lost a hard-fought game at noon on Friday against Team West Texas 22-6. They will look to rebound versus Team Wichita on Sunday as well.
Team South Dakota's 8th grade team defeated Team Wisconsin on Friday and will continue their march toward a national title too.
FBU is giving South Dakota to compete and showcase their talents against the best across the country and so far so good for Team South Dakota in the 6th and 8th grade levels.
