At Rutgers University, you can now take a course on Beyoncecalled "Politicizing Beyoncé," which uses the pop star's music and career to "explore American race, gender and sexual politics."

The course is apparently a part of the school’s Department of Women’s and Gender Studies and will be taught by PhD candidate Kevin Allred. Allred said,

This isn’t a course about Beyonce’s political engagement or how many times she performed during President Obama’s inauguration weekend. Rather, the performer’s music and career are used as lenses to explore American race, gender and sexual politics.”
