The Sioux Falls Canaries announced on Saturday afternoon that they have signed infielder Ryan Lashley to a contract and placed infielder Frank Martinez on waivers.
The Canaries started off strong, but the middle innings proved to be the downfall on Friday night against the St. Paul Saints, as the Birds fell 18-10.
The Canaries found themselves with ample opportunities to tie the game and even win the game late, but couldn’t seem to find the key hit as they fell 5-4.
The Sioux Falls Canaries have seen their offense ebb and flow over the season. Wednesday was no different as the offense only put up four hits in a 7-0 loss to the Lincoln Saltdogs.
Joe Bircher again had a good outing for the Canaries, but the Birds’ bats couldn’t help out their starter, as Sioux Falls fell to the Lincoln Saltdogs 3-1.
David Bergin hit two homers and Shawn Blackwell pitched 7.2 strong innings as the Canaries topped the Lincoln Saltdogs 5-3 on Monday night at Haymarket Park in Lincoln.
