Cats can do amazing things!

Since Movember is long gone, we're experiencing a bit of 'stache withdrawal. Things just don't seem right when there isn't an abundance of facial hair on the web. But as our luck would have it, cats have swooped in to save us from our beardless blues.

Not long ago, Tess Guthrie's cat was hissing so loud that the sound woke her from her slumber. And when the 22-year old Australian mom did open her eyes she saw a six foot python had wrapped itself around the arm of her six-month-old daughter, who was sleeping right next to her.

Back in 2009, when Evan was seven, his family adopted a cat named Macha from City Kitties, an animal rescue in Philadelphia. The boy immediately took to the feline, and to show City Kitties his appreciation for his new pet, he wrote them a nice handwritten thank you note which included a $46.75 donation that he had saved up from his allowance.

The hourly countdown to 2013 has officially begun, which means New Year's Eve preparations are in full swing. We're practicing our photobombing techniques, cranking up the tunes and bejeweling jean shorts, among other things. December 31st is the party of all parties, after all!

Dogs are the pet of choice in South Dakota's largest city. Of the 25,000 licenses granted to pet owners since 2007, dogs outpaced cats eight to one.
