Former Sioux Falls Canary Reggie Abercrombie carried the broom and the Winnipeg Goldeyes offense Thursday night to help his club to an 8-3 victory over his former team, completing the four-game sweep in Sioux Falls.
Though the weather cooperated with the Sioux Falls Canaries Monday evening, the Winnipeg Goldeyes did not as the club from Canada took the opening game of a four-game series with a 3-2 win at the Birdcage.
The skies cooperated early on Sunday, and the Sioux Falls Canaries and Kansas City T-Bones were able to complete Saturday night's suspended game. The end result was a 3-2 T-Bones victory over the Canaries.
The Sioux Falls Canaries put a stop to a three-game home losing streak in impressive fashion Thursday night as two home runs by first baseman Chris Duffy, including a grand slam, carried the Canary offense in a 12-5 win over the Kansas City T-Bones at the Birdcage.
Sioux Falls starter Joe Bircher needed one good pitch to get out of a one-out, bases loaded jam in the seventh inning. He got the groundball he needed, but a throwing error allowed two runs to score, giving the St. Paul Saints the 3-2 lead, and a win over the Canaries on Sunday evening.
