Dads, make an appointment to spend some time with your daughter(s) this weekend.  Sunday is National "Father Daughter Take A Walk Together Day."  It doesn't have to be a big production, just take a leisurely stroll around the neighborhood.  Or maybe even go out and get an ice cream cone together.

Given how busy everyone seems to be these days, I would encourage you to make it a priority to take some time for yourself and your daughter(s).  Given the fact we can't seem to do anything or go anywhere without "social media" these days, consider it an opportunity to leave technology behind and spend some quality one-on-one time together.

Maybe it's because my "little girl" is out in the Black Hills for the Summer that I'm feeling a bit down.  I sure do miss her.  I wish she were closer so we could go for a walk together Sunday.

Or maybe it's because a co-worker showed me the pictures of his daughter's wedding from this past weekend.  Wow!  Was she beautiful.  And I remember her when she was just a little bit of a thing.  All I know is kids grow up WAY TOO FAST!

A Facebook friend recently described it perfectly:

You will never have this day with your children again.  Tomorrow they'll be a little older than they were today.  This day is a gift.  Just breathe, notice, study their faces and little feet.  Pay attention.  Relish the charms of the present.  Enjoy today, it'll be over before you now it.

So true!  So who's up for a walk?
