A much needed return home didn't cure South Dakota's defensive woes Thursday night against Western Illinois.  Now the Coyotes try to re-group and get that first conference win of the season Saturday against Omaha.

The USD (9-10/0-4) defense is the only team in the conference to allow 80 points or more in every game this season.  Opponents are averaging a league-high 10 3-pointers a game against the Coyotes, and hitting them at a conference-best 44%.

Western Illinois was the latest team to take advantage of USD from long range, burying 13 in Thursday's 10-point win.

Omaha comes to the DakotaDome Saturday afternoon with the lowest scoring offense in the Summit League (65 points per game), but with one of the best scoring backcourts in the conference with guards Ericka House (20 points per game) and Mikaela Shaw (14 points per game).

The Mavericks also have one of the top post players in the league.  Center Taijhe Kelly leads the Summit in offensive rebounding and blocked shots.

USD head coach Amy Williams says what UNO lacks on offense, they make up for at the other end of the floor:

Tipoff is 2:00pm Saturday in Vermillion.
