Spirit of Volunteerism Awards Luncheon
The Helpline Center is pleased to announce that 85 individuals, groups and businesses were nominated for the 2015 Spirit of Volunteerism Awards. The Spirit of Volunteerism Awards luncheon is held annually by the Helpline Center to honor outstanding volunteers across the Sioux Empire.
Sponsors of the event include Independent Insurance Agents of Sioux Falls, Children’s Dental Center and Parkway Orthodontics, Midcontinent Communications, First PREMIER Bank/PREMIER Bankcard, Argus Leader Media, EarthBend, MetaBank and Citi.
Each nominee will be celebrated at the Spirit of Volunteerism Awards luncheon 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM on Tuesday, May 5 at the Sioux Falls Convention Center. Tickets for the luncheon are available by calling 605-274-1400 or ordering online at helplinecenter.org/events/spirit-of-volunteerism/. RSVP deadline is Friday, April 24.
Winners will be selected by a panel of judges in categories including Youth, Group, Adult and Corporate Humanitarian. All nominees will be recognized and honored at this event and winners will be announced live. Winners of the Youth, Adult and Group Spirit of Volunteerism Awards will each receive a $500 award made payable to the non-profit organization of his/her choice.
The event will also feature the 2015 Citi Youth Leadership Award which honors six seniors from local high schools. Each will receive a $1,000 scholarship based on their past service. Each month the Helpline Center partners with MetaBank to honor the community-wide volunteer of the month. These 12 winners will also be in attendance and honored at the luncheon.
