After seeing an eight-game win streak go out the window at IUPUI last weekend, South Dakota State is wasting no time trying to create another one.  The Jacks will be looking to cap a perfect weekend when the host Western Illinois Saturday at Frost Arena.

The weekend started with an 11-point win over Omaha, in a game that saw the two teams trading baskets in the first half, and SDSU down by four at intermission. But a 16-4 run early in the second half put the Jacks ahead to stay.

Saturday, the Jacks welcome a Western Illinois team they beat in the final seconds of their first meeting last month in Macomb, on a Steph Paluch layin.

It was a game South Dakota State won, despite shooting just 28 percent in the first half and turning the ball over 27 times.

Coach Aaron Johnston credits a plus-20 margin on the boards and stingy defense for keeping his team in that game:

Tipoff is 4:00pm Saturday in Brookings.
