The regular season for some has come to an end while others are finishing up their final games. Here's the updated South Dakota Sportswriters rankings heading towards districts.

Class AA Boys has a unanimous top team after Washington defeated O'Gorman last Tuesday night. Huron, Aberdeen Central, and Watertown all remain in the top five with Roosevelt looking from the outside in. What we do know is that this year's Class AA tournament could be among the most wide open.

Sioux Falls Washington suffered a loss to O'Gorman last Tuesday night, but they were without leading scorer Anna Goodhope. The Warriors bounced back defeating Brandon Valley, and then Roosevelt to close out their season. Aberdeen Central remains ranked second with one game remaining. O'Gorman had a great week picking up wins over Washington, Brookings, and Lincoln. Lincoln continues to play strong, even with the loss to O'Gorman. Brandon Valley stays at the fifth spot for this week.

The race for the top of the rankings in Class A boys is tight. Dell Rapids, who had all first place votes last week, and Sioux Falls Christian are separated by just one first-place vote and one vote overall. Clark-Willow Lake, St. Thomas More, and Sioux Valley remain in the top five rankings this week.

St. Thomas More continues to be on top of the Class A rankings after going through their schedule with losses to two powerhouse teams in Washington and Crofton, Nebraska. They are the favorites heading into district play. Otherwise, no changes to this week's poll outside of Sioux Valley and McCook Central-Montrose getting a few swing votes to break a tie from last week. Webster Area is right behind McCook Central-Montrose with only one vote separating them.

Warner went through their schedule undefeated and will enter district play as the top team according to the South Dakota Sportswriters. Class B boys experienced the biggest shake-up this week of all classes. Canistota is still ranked in second. Wolsey-Wessington jumped from fifth to third, while Chester Area found itself ranked fifth after last week's performance. Langford Area stayed at fourth.

Sully Buttes also went undefeated in Class B and will enter district play with a 20-0 record and as the top team. Everything else, rankings wise, remains the same from last week outside of Viborg-Hurley and Ethan no longer being tied for positions.
