South Dakota will continue to be part of the annual Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade for another three years.

Tourism Secretary James Hagen says the state has been invited to renew it's contract with the parade.

The cost of having a float in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade has been about $225,000 a year - a price Hagen says is well worth it.

In recent years, the South Dakota float has also featured one of the state's most well-known attractions - Mount Rushmore. Plus, a musician has also featured on the float.  Past musicians have included Don McLean and Neil Diamond.
