SIOUX FALLS - A South Dakota native who leads one of the nation's most prestigious military bands is taking part in Monday's inauguration ceremonies in Washington, D.C.

Fred Ellwein will lead the U.S. Army Old Fife and Drum Corps as it marches down Pennsylvania Avenue ahead of President Barack Obama's motorcade.

Ellwein tells KELO television that he thinks every step along the parade route will resonate with memories and blessings of the things he's been afforded. He says it will potentially be his last official mission in the Army.

Ellwein is a South Dakota State University graduate who has been on active duty for a decade and has deployed twice to Iraq.
