Our News Gathering Partner KDLT reports an escaped South Dakota inmate is back in custody after leading authorities from three states on two separate chases Monday.

Lincoln County Sheriff's officials confirm 36-year-old David Holloway was taken into custody Monday night.

According to the Cedar County Sheriff, Holloway stole a Ford F-150 from the Crofton, Nebraska area. Nebraska authorities chased Holloway in the stolen truck, but he got away.

Lyon County Iowa authorities tried to stop the stolen truck. Holloway led them on a chase that eventually entered Lincoln County in South Dakota.

The pursuit entered Lincoln County. A citizen blocked the truck. A trooper then broke the pickup's window and arrested Holloway.

Holloway is currently serving a 10-year sentence for grand theft out of Pennington County and a 2-year sentence for eluding a police officer out of Yankton County.
