South Dakota Burger Joint Tops List As ‘Best in America’
The next time you plan a Black Hills vacation (maybe during the Sturgis Rally next month?) you may want to put the Black Hills Burger and Bun Co. on your list of planned attractions to see. A new poll from Trip Advisor has the Custer, South Dakota restaurant listed as the #1 burger joint in America!
The family owned restaurant is only open for three hours for lunch and three hours for dinner six days a week (closed on Sundays) and features fresh baked buns every day and fresh ground beef and buffalo burgers plus homemade salads, desserts made from scratch and even the pickles are canned from an old family recipe!
On their website it says that they make a limited amount of buns each day and don’t guarantee being open until closing time each night at 8pm! Now THAT’S what I call fresh!
Sioux Falls has some great burger joints (as witnessed by the thousands of you who chimed in when we asked for the best burger in town) By the way, it seems to be close to a dead heat for the top spot between JL Beers downtown and Taphouse 41 at 41st and Western, but neither cracked the top 10 according to the Trip Advisor poll, though a Twin Cities joint that has been featured on the Food Network did make it.
Here’s the top 10 for you burger lovers that want to make a ‘to try’ list for vacations:
