South Dakota AG to Lead Regional Group
South Dakota Attorney General Marty Jackley is the new Chairman of the Conference of Western Attorneys General.
Jackley's office says the regional group addresses what it calls "emerging legal topics and common areas of interest to the west."
Those topics include water, fish and wildlife, public lands, minerals, environment and Indian law.
Idaho Attorney General Lawrence Wasden will serve as Vice Chair and Hawaii Attorney General David Louie was named as the Executive Board Member.
Jackley, who is also the Vice President of the National Attorneys General Association, said in a prepared statement from his office, "I am honored to work with my colleagues to advance areas of common interest to the Western States that directly impact South Dakota."
