Lucasfilm is one of the last big studios able to keep spoilers for their new movies away from the public, and no film on their slate is more mysterious than the upcoming Han Solo origin movie Solo: A Star Wars Story. While the Expanded Universe novels are no longer Star Wars canon, there are a few bits of lore hinted at in the movies that we can probably expect to see in this movie.

A new sneak peek from Empire, posted online, seems to indicate that we can expect to see a lot of Han Solo’s past played out in the movie — especially that game of dice Corellian Spike with which he wins the Millennium Falcon.

It's part of Solo lore that, as a young gifted pilot, he studied at the Imperial Academy at Carida. Solo is kicked out of the Academy for rescuing Chewbacca from an Imperial Officer, and thus one of cinema's great friendships was formed. Some variation on this is likely in Solo.

During shooting additional footage, Ron Howard tweeted a picture of a mine shaft with the caption "Spicey?" This is most likely a nod to the spice mines of Kessel, a galactic prison where inmates mine a precious spice. It also suggests the Kessel Run, the hyperspace route used by smugglers, will play a part.

We can definitely expect to see the Falcon in this movie, and it’ll probably look more like it did during that Easter egg in Revenge of the Sith. The Falcon we see in A New Hope has undergone “a lot of modifications,” so the one we meet in Solo may still have those blue racing stripes. And we’re also likely to see those six-sided dice that were referenced so heavily in The Last Jedi.

Solo: A Star Wars Story hits theaters May 25, 2018.
