While the National Weather Service is forecasting two to three inches of snow Friday in the Sioux Falls area, Gaylynn Huber of Sioux Falls Streets says his crews are prepared for the winter weather.

"It's going to come in slowly during the morning hours.  We have actually doubled our shifts.  Half the crew is coming in at 8 a.m. and will work till 4 p.m.  The other half will come in at 4 p.m. and work till midnight.  That should cover the extent of the snow coming in.  We did call in some extra city employees to help out.  Right now, we're looking at it as a sanding operation."

Huber urges drivers to decrease their speed and leave plenty of room to stop once the snow arrives.  In Huber's words, "you should allow at least three times more space than usual between you and the car in front of you."
