Last night's season finale of SNL was a huge deal. Not because Ben Affleck was hosting (although he was great), but because it was the final episode for Bill Hader and head writer/Weekend Update anchor Seth Meyers. The show had to send them off in style and that could only mean one thing: the final appearance of Stefon.

One of the most popular characters in recent SNL history, Hader's Stefon has provided the Weekend Update segments of the show with some of its biggest laughs of all time. Of course, he couldn't have done it without the help of Meyers, whose deadpan reactions helped sell every ridiculous thing that Stefon has ever said and done. Knowing that this is the character's last official appearance on the show coats an otherwise hilarious sketch with melancholy. This is the first time a Stefon scene may bring a tear to your eye.

The scene begins like any other, with Stefon recommending obscure and terrifying New York City clubs to out-of-towners, but things get heated. You see, Stefon is fed up with Meyers not appreciating him...so he's off to get married! He storms off the set, leaving a grief-stricken Meyers to attempt to keep the show going...but then he goes after him.

What follows is a pre-recorded segment that has to be seen to be believed, a hilarious and epic conclusion for one of SNL's great characters. Longtime fans of Stefon will be beside themselves as they try to find the many references to the character's past jokes and a cameo from a certain grey-haired news anchor makes it all the sweeter.

Goodbye, Seth Meyers and Bill Hader. Goodbye, Stefon.
