When you keep winning, there are multiple reasons that underlie the success. Over the past week, Jarnell Stokes would be mainly why the Skyforce continued their winning ways.

How crucial was the forward from Tennessee? During one win over Canton and twice subduing Raptors 905, Stokes scored a combined 67 points with 25 rebounds and 4 blocks. For those exploits Stokes was named NBADL Performer of the Week.

He only missed one shot against the Charge on Tuesday (8 of 9) and two shots in the first game against Raptors 905 on Thursday (11 of 13). Although not as efficient in the Saturday contest (9 of 15) on many occasions Stokes was a nightmare matchup and dominated the 905 frontline.

Stokes is the second NBA assignee to be named Performer of the Week in the D-League this season. Fort Wayne’s Rakeem Christmas was the first on December 21. It’s the second consecutive week that a Skyforce player earned the award after DeAndre Liggins was so named on December 28.

The Miami Heat has since recalled Stokes as the Skyforce prepare for two games at the NBADL Showcase. First up Raptors 905 once again on Thursday with Santa Cruz lying in wait on Saturday.
