A twenty-three point hole was too much to overcome, but the Sioux Falls Skyforce nearly made it all the way back before succumbing to the Maine Red Claws 122-114 Saturday night at the Portland Expo Building.

Late in the first half, the score read Maine 77 Sioux Falls 54.  By the 7:51 mark of the 4th quarter, witness the turnaround: Maine 97 Sioux Falls 96.  From start to finish, the game was quite a ride, but the Red Claws (6-2) used a couple of end-to-end drives into a tired Skyforce (3-4) defense to get the mojo back and pedal home for the win much to the relief of the 2,253 who witnessed the effort.

Leading the home team was Dwight Powell who was not with Maine one week ago when these two teams met.  He was with the Boston Celtics then, but on assignment tonight.  Powell put up a fantastic 25 points with 12 rebounds.  Meanwhile Chris Babb went for 23 points, 10 rebounds and Tim Frazier put up a triple double of 18 points, 13 assists and 10 rebounds.

For Sioux Falls, Fuquan Edwin continues to hone his stroke going 6-8 from long range on the way to 28 points plus 10 rebounds and 3 steals which you can see above.  Miami assignee Andre Dawkins pumped in 25 points while Khem Birch fought through foul trouble to score 13 points with 6 rebounds and 4 blocks.

Sioux Falls remains on the road with a trip to Canton on Tuesday while Maine will wait until Wednesday to play at Delaware.  Highlights of the night are down below.
