Police say a Sioux Falls woman thought her 15-year-old daughter was spending too much time on her cellphone so she took it away, but when the daughter wanted it back the two got into a scuffle that ended with the mother's arrest on a felony charge.

Information Officer Sam Clemens says police were called early Tuesday to the 3000 block of South Louise Avenue where, he says  the mother slapped her daughter, the daughter slapped back and the mother then got a belt and hit her daughter.

Clemens identified the arrested woman as 35-year-old Flahn Nelly Quiah. He says both mother and daughter had called police.
