Police say a domestic dispute led to a Sioux Falls man being attacked and stabbed by his girlfriend on Wednesday afternoon.

Officer Sam Clemens says it happened around 4pm as the two were arguing in an apartment in the 200 block of South Prairie Avenue.

He says the woman grabbed a steak knife from the kitchen and chased the man around, stabbing him in the back of one shoulder blade.

The 50-year-old man suffered a small cut and was taken to a hospital, but refused treatment there.

Clemens says Colleen Louise Hofer, 46, was arrested and charged with domestic aggravated assault.

He says both people had been drinking.
