The stats haven’t been exactly gaudy night after night, but that’s fine with DeAndre Liggins.  Winning is all that matters.  Sioux Falls was tested, but eventually triumphed over Tulsa twice this weekend with the Saturday night tally being 100-94 in front of 2,870 fans at the Sanford Pentagon.

Liggins has consistently logged the most minutes of any Skyforce player this season with good reason.  He does so many things well, Sioux Falls (6-2) needs him to produce when the need arises.  Against the 66ers (1-9), the 21 points, 11 rebounds, 7 assists and 3 steals for Liggins set the tone.  The wing player from Kentucky has been to the NBA, but knows he has to get better to return to the bigger stage.  As it stands, Liggins is among the top 10 prospects deemed ready for a call-up, but says winning comes first.  “I’m here to win.  I’m not here to get a call-up.  I’m here to develop my game and get better and try to win every game we play.”

Justin Hamilton seems to be getting better as the year goes on as well.  The 7-footer amassed 22 points and collected 12 rebounds.  Four of the last five games Hamilton has scored more than 20 and three of those five have included double digit tallies in rebounds.  Also former USD Coyote Charlie Westbrook sparkled in his role off the bench with 19 points on 7 of 11 shooting, 4 rebounds and 2 steals.

Tulsa in the losing effort played significantly better than the night before, jumping out to a 17-8 lead fresh out of the gate.  Mario Little led the way with 23 points with 5 three-point baskets for the 66ers sharpshooter.  Tulsa returns home for a contest with the Reno Bighorns on Thursday while Sioux Falls heads east for a Friday night contest with the Maine Red Claws.
