An investigation is underway into a vandalism spree of tipped over construction equipment.

"We had somebody that was able to start a backhoe in the area of Maple Street and Marion Road," Sioux Falls Police Spokesman Sam Clemens told us.

"A neighbor heard the noise around 12:30 A.M. on Monday and called police. As the officer arrived on scene, he saw a Toyota Camry parked there. While surveying the damage, somebody ran from the ditch, got in the car and drove away at a high rate of speed. We found that this one backhoe had been started and then used to tip over several other pieces of heavy equipment."

Clemens says no arrests have been made.
