The task force charged with creating a long term mass transit strategy holds its first meeting Wednesday at Carnegie Town Hall. The time is 3:30pm.

Representatives of various special and regular interest groups are members of the task force. City administration hopes a coordinated effort among the special interests will be created because federal funding cuts are coming and demand for services is increasing.

All components of public transportation are up for discussion, including fixed routes, paratransit, community based, and school bus services.

Sam Trebilcock of the Sioux Falls Planning Office is the staff person in charge.
