I'm am obsessive about few things but one of them is getting snow removed from my driveway before our vehicles pack it into a skating rink. Pushing the light layer of snow off my driveway was a short project this morning made longer by the bitter cold.

At about 11:00 A.M. the temperature in my truck was -12. The high temp was -9, according to the National Weather Service.

That tied a record for the coldest high temperature on December 31. The old record was set in 1968. Huron and Mitchell broke records set in 1927.

I set a record for shoveling my driveway and sidewalks in 12 minutes 37 seconds.
