If  you're texting and driving in Sioux Falls,  you could be fined.

During a news conference on Thursday, Sioux Falls Mayor Mike Huether and Police Chief Doug Barthel talked about the ordinance.

The ordinance was approved by the city council last month.  It prohibits drivers from composing, reading or sending electronic messages.
