In light of another snow storm headed into Southeast South Dakota, including Sioux Falls---Gaylynn Huber of the Street Department says it's tough on both the crews and the equipment.

"It's pretty difficult to be out there on 12 hour shifts and without a break. It's really difficult on the street crews and the heavy equipment. That equipment has been running 24 hour days. One person drives it for 12 hours and then another person drives it for the next 12 hours. That's hard on the equipment and the people handling it."

But, Huber says his workers are prepared to plow the city---once again!

"We go into split shifts when we go into a snow alert. We shift at noon and at midnight. We are continuing to stay with the schedule. I have a crew that will be finishing up at noon. The next crew is still coming in at noon. We are going to continue the split shifts all the way through Tuesday."

Huber urges drivers to maintain a distance between them and the snow plows and sanders!
