Meteorologist Mike Fuhs of the National Weather Service says the snow is on the way and could begin early Tuesday afternoon.

"Snowfalls amounts could vary a little bit north and south. Around the Sioux Falls area we are still looking at an average of nine inches," said Fuhs.

"I wouldn't be surprised if it was a little bit like November 20 of 2015. Like that storm, we could see less snow on the north side and a little heavier on the south side of town. The bulk of the snowfall will be with us in a 12 hour period from late Tuesday afternoon through tomorrow (Wednesday)."

Fuhs says the winds will pick up tomorrow and result in blowing snow causing travel difficulties.
