Thursday afternoon the Sioux Falls School District informed parents that the District had received a threat concerning unnamed buildings that required the attention of the Sioux Falls Police.

After investigating the threat they found it to not be credible. Teachers in the affected schools kept informed of the threat, but the school day was not disrupted.

Here is the text of the message.

Message being sent to all parents and staff this afternoon: Hello Sioux Falls School District Families. Earlier today the District received a threat that required the attention of school leaders and the Sioux Falls Police Department. A thorough investigation determined the threat was not credible. Classroom teachers in the affected buildings were informed, however, it was not necessary to disrupt normal school operations so most students are not even aware of actions taken today. We know we are being intentionally vague but we wanted you to have some information to serve as assurance that student and staff safety will always be our top priority.  Thank you for placing your trust in us to keep our schools safe.
