There's a lot of talk these days about gun control, if this continues, we might need to add pop cans to the discussion.

Police arrested a 22-year-old Sioux Falls man, named Elijah Johnson and charged him with simple and aggravated assault after he attacked two men in separate incidents on Saturday, April 16, 2016.

It all started around noon, when the first victim felt like he was smacked in the head by a man with a rock near 12th Street and Summit Avenue according to Lt. Dave McIntire with the Sioux Falls Police Department.

The victim was able to provide officers with a description of the assailant.

Then shortly after that, a police officer on patrol near the area witnessed a man matching the description of the assailant attack another individual with a full soda pop can at the bus stop located at 11th Street and Summit Avenue.

Kinda gives a whole new meaning to a jolt to the body by Mr. Pibb doesn't it?

Police took Johnson into custody at the scene.

If convicted, Johnson is looking at up to 15 years in prison on the aggravated assault charge.
